Guest guest
Dear members, Just wanted to pass along a little news flash. PETA has encouraged consumption of the new BK Veggie Sandwich at Burger King. Normally, I wouldn't step foot into Murder King, but I decided to today sisnce PETA is encouraging it. PETA did say on their web site that if you ask the manager nicely, they are supposed to allow the workers to microwave the veggie pattie so it doesn't touch the same grill that meat is cooked on. The BK manager I spoke to today refused even after I reminded him that he should have gotten a memo from corporate headquarters about it. They are supposed to zap the patty for one minute. The manager plain refused to do that. So, I ended up going to Subway. They have a Veggie Max Sub that tastes delicious and they do use the microwave for hesting up the patties. My recomendation? Boycott Burger King anyways, even though PETA just ended a 6 month campain of boycotting with them. I bet they even put meat in their veggie burgers at Murder King just to get one over on the vegetarians. Especially after being harrassed by PETA suporters for the last 6 months. I wouldn't put it past them. I plan on getting a few veg head friends together and picket that Murder King that refused to let me " have it your way. " Feedback anyone? Guest guest
Hey Veronica - i support you 100%. It is truly sad that Marcus and PETA are telling folks to eat at BK. What if they said the same of McD? And what really is the dif. between these two companies? I am glad they are selling veggie burgers. Each time a meat-eater eats one, i rejoice. (Figuratively. This is not something an ethical vegan (or veggie) should be spending their money on tho. You are basically giving a donation to one of the biggest killers on the planet. Smart thinking PETA and Marcus. Why not go to McD and order a soda there too? They're vegan. (Sure, it's Pepsi/Coca-Cola..but hey - it's vegan! Remind me again what Eric's book is called? _Vegan - The New E_ _ _ _ s of Eating_ Fill in the blank?? Maybe the sequel will be 'Lost' instead of 'New'.) <big sigh> - Dave - " Veronica " <principal Thursday, October 17, 2002 3:59 PM BK Veggie Burger > Dear members, > Just wanted to pass along a little news flash. > PETA has encouraged consumption of the new BK Veggie Sandwich > at Burger King.
