I don't know where he bought it, but assuming you're in the

US, it wouldn't be too hard to do.

 

I've seen them go for that in Goodwill Stores, Salvation

Army Stores. Ebay auctions may sell computers for that

price, probably do.

 

There are online sellers of used computers that sell them

for not much more than that, as well as local used computer

stores.

 

We bought five monitors, one big laser printer (HP 4-si),

one small laser printer, two phone/faxes, and one computer:

total of $12. This was at an auction, a college was

auctioning off surplus equipment. We had to leave four of

the monitors there, they wouldn't fit in our car. We had

bought them because it was 'buy the equipment on this table'

as a lot.

 

Of the stuff we brought home, the monitor works fine, the

mouse and keyboard are fine. The CPU is dead. The small

laser printer is dead. One phone/fax unit works, the other

doesn't. The big HP 4-si laser printer works fine.

 

So, we got a working laser jet (the big luxury one), a

working phone/fax/copier, a working monitor, a working

keyboard, and a working mouse - total of $12. This was

unusually good luck, though.
