Vacancies at Wildlife Trust of India

 

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is a wildlife

conservation organisation,

committed to urgent action that prevents destruction

of India's

wildlife. WTI invites applications for the following

contractual positions

under the Emergency Relief project of the Wild Rescue

Program. All the

positions are initially based in North-east India,

although transferable

throughout India.

 

Veterinarian, Emergency Relief Ambulance (4 positions)

 

WTI is looking for veterinarians with proven wild

animal handling and

treatment skills. S/he will provide and oversee

comprehensive clinical

veterinary services to rescued wild animals, which

include mammals,

birds and reptiles and liaise with WTI's regional

rehab center near

Kaziranga NP.

 

The ideal candidate will have a BVSc / BVSc & AH with

at least one

year's experience in a zoo or a protected area.

Masters specialization in

veterinary medicine or surgery or wildlife sciences

will be desirable.

The position involves travel with mobile ambulance for

long periods of

time within the northeast. Ability to drive

ambulance/jeep is essential.

Fluency in speaking and writing northeastern languages

like Assamese,

Khasi, Garo will be an asset.
