TV puppet Muffin The Mule is to make a comeback for his 60th birthday.

BBC chiefs have said that a new series based on the character is expected to

be shown in the next three years.

The new shows will show an animated version of Muffin and he will live on an

urban farm.

Rights to the character were bought by production company Maverick

Entertainment in January, it has emerged.

The firm's managing director said: " Muffin the Mule was a hugely successful

character in the 1950s and 1960s and is now very much part of English

broadcasting heritage. "

Muffin was first seen by TV audiences in October 1946 in the show For The

Children and was introduced by presenter Annette Mills.

Muffin featured in the 50th Anniversary Special edition of The Vegan and the

Summer 1952 edition. Please send wishes of congratulations and vegan

love.
