BBC chiefs have said that a new series based on the character is expected to be shown in the next three years. The new shows will show an animated version of Muffin and he will live on an urban farm. Rights to the character were bought by production company Maverick Entertainment in January, it has emerged. The firm's managing director said: " Muffin the Mule was a hugely successful character in the 1950s and 1960s and is now very much part of English broadcasting heritage. " Muffin was first seen by TV audiences in October 1946 in the show For The Children and was introduced by presenter Annette Mills. Muffin featured in the 50th Anniversary Special edition of The Vegan and the Summer 1952 edition. Please send wishes of congratulations and vegan love.
