Screening/vulgar spam on this list

I belong to a number of list-serve groups, but this one seems to be the

only one that does not catch spam in the form of very disgusting , (and

irreleavant to veganism) posts. I have been off-line for a few weeks and was

aghast at the number of vulgar spam messages that came across via Planet

Vegan. Can the List Manager please explain/adress this issue?

Yeah, this list seems to get more spam than actual content lately. I

keep thinking about unsubscribing, but every so often there's some

worthwhile post that makes it worth sifting through the junk. Maybe it

would make sense to switch to a moderated format, since there's such a

small amount of relevant traffic anyway. That puts an additional burden

on the list admin, but if that's a problem, I'm sure there are other

members who would volunteer to share the duty. I'd be happy to help

myself.

 

(In case anyone's unfamiliar with the term, a moderated email list has

to have every post approved by a moderator before it goes out to the

membership at large. So if you volunteer for moderator duty, you would

still have to go through the junk, but you would spare everyone else.)
