Guest guest
hi ruth, i think it is a challenge to anyone on a vegan diet to make sure they are getting enough of the proper nutrients. i would highly suggest taking a good-quality (vegan) multi-vitamin which contains %100 of your b-12, as well as supplementing your diet with essential fatty acids (usu. sold as a mix of flax seed oil and other oils) which you can buy at health food stores. for me these two things make a big difference in my energy level. also i dont have to say that getting enough protein is important and definitely a challenge. i really like making smoothies with soft tofu, soy milk and berries in the morning, because early protein will keep you from feeling sluggish in the mid-mornings. those things should help with your energy and help boost your immune system. if you havent tried it, you might also try cutting out white sugar and wheat for about three weeks and see how you feel. this really helps some people. that said, this has been a particularly tough winter imo in terms of getting sick. myself and everyone around me seems to have gotten more colds this year than usual. dont know why. hang in there, honey. you have lots of vegan friends on this list for support! love s :::::::::::::::::::::::::::: > ruth belle <beautyproductjunkie > health problems after becoming vegan > > hi i just wanted to know if anyone has had the experience as me. well i became vegan because i love animals and wont eat them. but since becoming vegan ive never been so sick. Guest guest
Sad to hear you have had so many problems....Its a really good idea to study nutrient...just get out a few books from the library and make sure your eating the right nuts, seeds, oils, grains and vegies/fruit covering all the vitamins and minerals. Take a good mult supplement is also a very good idea. sometimes the body gets sick - as it cleans all the toxic junk out of the system. Just eating bread and junk food is not the way to go. wrote: There is 1 message in this issue.
