Guest guest
Can anyone recommend any good vegan restaurants in Los Angeles or Washington, DC? Vegan organic would be even better. Non-vegan restaurants with vegan options would also be good. By the way, I don't have a car when I'm in either of these cities. In DC, it would be good if it were either within walking distance of the Foggy Bottom metro station, or reasonably close to another metro station that's easy to get to from Foggy Bottom. Something in Georgetown would be good. In LA, close to downtown would be best. Close to downtown and open in the evening would be even better A bus ride away is also OK. Also, does anyone know of a good vegan restaurant guide to US cities? Thanks! Gerry
Guest guest
I don't know of vegan restaurants actually in DC (tho there's cafe called Luna something near the Dupont Circle metro, that has, as far as I know, a vegan veggie burger, and they also do nice things like sweet potato), but there is a totally vegan Chinese restaurant directly across the street from the White Flint metro station on the Red line in Rockville. It's superb. -Amy - Gerry Morgan Monday, June 28, 2004 11:09 PM Vegan Restaurants in LA, DC Can anyone recommend any good vegan restaurants in Los Angeles or Washington, DC? Guest guest
>Can anyone recommend any good vegan restaurants in Los Angeles or >Washington, DC? Hi Gerry; We were there some years ago now, but we really enjoyed the Ethiopian restaurants. Lots of wonderful vegan food on their menus, with Injera bread made from teff. Delicious! There was also a wonderful little place called Soul Vegetarian. We didn't have a car either, so we took taxis and walked quite a bit. Lovely city. :-) Deborah

Guest guest
Thank you all for your restaurant suggestions. I've made a note of them for my next trip. I also plan to make good use of http://www.happycow.net/, as suggested by Mr Falafel. I've also been looking at http://www.vegguide.org/, which someone suggested to me via email.
