Guest guest
Israeli bald chicken By Robert Uhlig, Farming Correspondent (Filed: 21/05/2002) A scientist who unveiled the first genetically modified featherless chicken yesterday claims that it is environmentally friendly, fast-growing and low in calories - although it might catch cold in the British climate. The Israeli geneticist Avigdor Cahaner crossbred a small, bare-skinned bird with a regular broiler chicken to engineer the featherless fowl. His red-skinned prototype - called the naked chicken - might have looked faintly ridiculous at its first official outing yesterday, but it is being heralded as the high-speed future of chicken farming. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/05/21/wchick21.xml -- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
