I live in a small town called Renmark on South Australia.

It is a battle to find purely vegan foods in the supermarkets, and in

take-away stores. I am the only vegan in my family, and the only

vegan I know. I am going out with a meat-eating boyfriend, which

sometimes makes it hard. People often criticise my choice to be

vegan, and think that it is stupid. Going out for tea is a nightmare

with little or no vegan options to choose from.

I just wish that people would look at me and realise what I am doing

is not only preventing animal cruelty, but saving the planet. I would

love them to think before they ordered a hamburger, or cooked a BBQ.

Its great to be able to send and recieve emails by like-minded people.

I give my utmost support to any restaurants, people or companies that

are vegan orientated.

And the issue of the BK veggieburger I don't think I would ever place

one in my mouth, and support such a horrible fast-food chain.

Carrie :o)

Hi Jackie, yes there are so many foods that have eggs and milk/milk derivatives

in so i understand its difficult. It takes twice as long going shopping, reading

all the labels lol. It does get easier. Sainsburys and Co-op actually label

their own brand products as vegan so that helps. Asda and Tesco cant be

bothered! I have found a great chocolate vegan cake very easy to cook on

vegweb.com (i am not into cooking myself) but i have a sweet tooth and their are

lots and lot of lovely recipes out there on the net.

myself to becoming a vegan. It's the " hidden " things in food that I'm still

struggling with, like things that contain eggs and that sort of thing.
