Guest guest
Register criminal cases against Raj forest officials: PFA: [india News]: Jaipur, Mar 15 : People for Animals (PFA), a voluntary body headed by former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, today alleged that the Rajasthan forest officials were " conniving " in poaching of tigers in Sariska and Ranthambhore reserves and demanded registration of criminal cases against them. They also demanded sacking of Forest Minister and Chief Wildlife Warden for their negligence. Because forest officials were " conniving " in poaching of big cats they continued to show high number of tigers on paper perpituating a " fraud " , PFA state Chief Babu Lal Jaju alleged and demanded registering of criminal cases against them. Despite spending 125 crore on Project Tiger, big cat had completely vanished from Sarishka and their number fell precariously low in Ranthambhore. Therefore, the money spent on the project should be recovered from the personal properties of the erring officials, Jaju demanded. Both the Rajasthan Forest Minister and the Wildlife warden have shown gross negligence in performing their duties and they should be sacked immediately, he said. Disapproving the style of working of the task force, constituted by the state government for recommending measures to save tigers, Jaju said the committee cannot do justice to the task assigned to it because the people responsible for poaching of tigers had been included in it.
