Guest guest
The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has appealed to the people to refrain from consuming animal meat, especially of camels, which is likely to be infected. In a press release, the BMP Chief Health Officer, Nagarabett, has said that consumption of diseased animal meat could be a potential source of infection. " As indiscriminate slaughter of animals for meat is not permitted in the city as per section 367 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (KMC) Act of 1976, the BMP will initiate action against those who sell diseased animal meat illegally, " Mr. Nagarabett told The BMP has also advised people to buy and consume meat of only such animals that are certified by a veterinary surgeon and slaughtered in the notified slaughterhouse on Tannery Road. " Slaughter of animals in public places other than the notified slaughterhouse is illegal. People should look for the official seal on the meat before buying it, " the release said.
