Guest guest
Hello, everyone. Hope all is well for each of you. After having been vegan for over 4 years, I am experiencing pretty significant cravings for fish/seafood! Admitedly this is what I have always missed most from my previous non-vegan days, but this craving really seems more physical than psychological. Is there something I could be missing in my diet or deficient in that would bring about these cravings? Tuno is not quenching this right now! I would appreciate any advice that you may have. Craving but not giving in, Renae :-)
Guest guest
Try having a few spoonfuls of Udo's Choice. Not only will it give you the essential oils that are also found in fish, but it tastes that bad it will put you off eating any food for a good hour or two!! - renaerokicki Planet Vegan Tuesday, May 03, 2005 1:59 PM Food craving Hello, everyone. Guest guest
Maybe Omega 3 fatty acid, found in ground flax seed, green leafy veggies, kidney beans, mangoes. If you reduce your intake of omega 6 by reducing the fat content of your diet in general, than increase the amount of omega 3 by eating more of those foods, I think that might help. Are you taking in a good reliable supply of B12? Deborah Hello, everyone. Hope all is well for each of you. Guest guest
I put ground flax seed on my cereal & soy milk in the morning, but to get more concentrated omega-3, I take a TBS or two of flax seed oil in salad or something. Spectrum makes a good tasting flax seed oil. They also make a dressing that has flax seed oil in it. Sometimes I combine the straight oil with the dressing. I'm curious to see if it's really a need for omega-3 that's causing your craving. Also, reducing other fats is a good idea, I hadn't really thought about. -Amy _____ On Behalf Of Deborah Pageau Tuesday, May 03, 2005 6:57 PM Re: Food craving Maybe Omega 3 fatty acid, found in ground flax seed, green leafy veggies, kidney beans, mangoes.
