Guest guest Posted May 5, 2005 Report Share Posted May 5, 2005 Dear friends, Please respond to Wankie's death, the final of three deaths predicted by those of us who attempted to prevent the San Diego Zoological Society from sending its middle-aged elephants to an inferior zoo in order to make room for a wild-caught elephant. As requested below, please write to your representatives, particularly if you live in California, Chicago or New York. Further, please ask that the transporters be charged with animal cruelty and given the maximum penalty for their crime, and write to San Diego Zoo officials and San Diego representatives and demand the resignation of the Zoo's president.
