Guest guest
[Anyone who would like to see KPFK radio (90.7 FM Los Angeles) allow more coverage of vegan/animal liberation issues - should 'please' contact the stations program director (Armando Gudino) at 818-985-2711 and let him know you would like to see more coverage of these very important topics. I hope some of you will consider calling the station. Specifically, let the program director know you would like to see Bob Linden 'who has a long running vegan/health show on an A.M. radio station', get an opportunity to contribute to KPFK's line up as well. For those that don't already know, KPFK is a listener Sponsored, non corporate, radio station. KPFK is one of the five sister stations of Pacifica radio. If you don't live in southern California, you can listen to the station online 24/7 at http://kpfk.org/ KPFK is a very good station. They cover progressive left political issues that have long since been lost from commercial media, unfortunately. For more information on Bob Linden's quest to gain a show on KPFK, read his recent email (below) to the stations program director. Note: you can also email the stations 'program director' if you prefer, but calling is better of course. Rick.] FW: KPFK continues to ignore vegan / animal liberation issues Tue, 24 May 2005 14:55:44 -0700 -- BOB LINDEN [meatfreeamerica] Tuesday, May 24, 2005 2:53 PM pd Cc: gm KPFK continues to ignore vegan / animal liberation issues Armando Gudino KPFK PROGRAM DIRECTOR Hi Armando, I am quite disappointed that you have been totally unresponsive to my many contacts (no returned email, no returned phone calls) since our April 8th meeting, especially in light of a promised follow-up meeting that was to take place the week of April 18 to schedule an extremely long-overdue and much needed series of vegan / animal liberation programs on KPFK. While you procrastinate, hundreds of millions of oppressed innocents have died, continuing to sicken and kill the human population and cause world hunger, devastating the environment and squandering resources. Animal liberationists now wallow in prison cells, victims of government propaganda and the shredding of the Constitution. Vegan / animal liberation programming is of utmost importance to the cause of peace, human health, and environmental sustainability. What could be so important to distract you from the most important issues of our time (Michael Jackson?) and to deprive the KPFK audience of critical information? One bite of a burger from Mad Cow infected meat can be fatal. Dairy decimates a broad spectrum of ethnicities. I don't hear that on KPFK and it is a shame. Have Republican propagandists infiltrated the KPFK decision-making process? You are being an unfair censor. It is my intention to visit KPFK this coming Friday and I hope that you will make yourself available so that we may schedule a series of programs at least as important as the weekly one that encourages the purchase of gas-guzzling vehicles, or the one that highlighted the romantic plight of drugged drag queens (nothing wrong with that but - come on - you're ignoring the world's greatest killer, the world's most destructive force, the most evil of corporate malfeasance). What's going on? Where are KPFK's life and death priorities? I urge you to act in accordance with the responsibilty of your position and the Pacifica mission statement.
