Guest guest
Welcome Todd! I second PT's question -- where in MA? I am a Boston suburbanite, but I travel all over the state and would love to visit sometime! Any chance you need an apprentice chef? ;-) -K , " carriage4me " <surrinerfarm@e...> wrote: > Dear Vegetarians, > Thank you for letting me join this group. Guest guest
Welcome, Taharka, look forward to your future contributions :-) , Taharka <taharka@w...> wrote: > Hello Group, I am new and wanted to take time to introduce myself. I'm married with children and happily work in a specialized unit in Law Enforcement. I have been a vegetarian since 1991 which was the same year I met my wife who later became a vegetarian at the later part of 91 or early 92. Vegetarianism and training, aided me in leaps and bounds with Asthma, sinuses, colds and sickness or remedies to them to the degree that I train all the time. In addition to Defensive Tactics, I train in Grappling, Jui-jitsu and Judo and periodically compete, all of which I would not have been able to do with Asthma as a carnivore. I'm open to just about anything vegetarian with no beef, pork, chicken or fish. I also like soy (Westsoy) or rice milk (Rice Dream) with my cereal or desert. > Pardon me for not doing a lot of research on the group, I felt because it was vegetarian that I should be a part of it. > > Hotep (Peace) > > > > >

Guest guest
Warm welcome to the list, Taharka. Thank you for posting such an interesting intro. I found most encouraging the way you have expressed how vegetarianism has improved your health in regards to your asthma. That is awesome! Guest guest
Hi everyone! I just joined and want to introduce myself. I'm 32, live in rural southern Illinois, and have been a strict vegetarian for fourteen years. I've (finally) decided to evolve into a vegan, once I run out of the nonvegan foods in my house (I've been almost vegan for years). I figured I'd join this group since I might need some advice along the way. I can't think of any specific questions right now, except does anyone know where to order a vegan dogfood for a relatively low price? I have two dogs, a pitbull and a mutt and they are both around 50 pounds so go through a lot of food. I'm really looking forward to being in this group, and thought I'd share a good quote I found on a vegan website with all you who have chosen this path: Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?' Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?' But conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?' And there comes a point when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right. -Martin Luther King, Jr. Hope everyone has a great week!
