Let me begin by sharing fond memories of Blackie who died on 25th April 2006 due to a road accident. A calm and peace loving canine, bushy tailed Blackie arrived in a pregnant state in my locality in 1999. She had 6 pups who died due to accidents and disease. I got her sterilized at the 'In Defense of Animals Center' in Mumbai. I feel very sad about them; daily hundreds of stray animals got hit with cars, trucks. Most them are left unnoticed on roads. And she stuck on in our area as everyone pet dog. Her death has hurt us all and made me ponder over the problem of strays. The only solution to the problem is get them sterilized so that their population, fights and diseases are in check. Contact PAWS for sterilizations in your area on 9820161114. Yours for animals, Nilesh Bhanage ........................................................ 2. NEW AMBULANCE IN SERVICE.
