Guest guest
Sometimes I wonder how Vegan Organic Produce would be. I went to Farmer's market last weekend and confirmed that produce was grown with cow, chicken, and horse manure. I try to avoid pesticides, but I don't want ecoli either. I don't feel good about eating something grown in another animals feces. I have been thinking of doing the transition, but cannot bring myself to pay more for possibly contracting a disease. Would there be any produce grown without the use of pesticides or manures? If so, is there a name for this? I try to grow my own fruits and vegies, but the birds eat alot of it and they ripen and fall to the ground. I need fresh produce year round. If I were to eat only my produce, I would starve. I'm not that good of a gardener, but I am trying. I live in Southern California about 50 miles from the ocean. It's almost desert here. I even heard my favorite dates grown not far from here with have some kind of spray on them. I was disappointed. I would love to be a better gardener, so I wouldn't have to be so dependant on people who grow with pesticides and manure. Thanks in advance for your reply. I have to eat to survive. I live on plant foods. The animals whose manure is generally used for fertilizer also live on plant foods. I am sorry if using this fertilizer is considered abuse of animals, but again, I have to eat to live. Regarding the ecoli concern, I carefully wash everything.
