Guest guest
Just educated a friend about veal. Even though he's a hard-core carnivore, he turned pale when I gave him a brief description of how baby calves are raised for veal. I think he may now be headed slowly down the path towards vegetarianism. I thought everyone knew what veal is, but obviously not, so ongoing education of friends is important. That's why it's called VEAL, instead of baby cow. Meat producers don't want us to associate it with the animal that it comes from. That's why we have all of these euphamistic names for things (beef, poultry, sausage, pork). You never see a package at the store labeled, GROUND PIG AND SPICES.
