Guest guest
Hi john! I’m so glad you visited the girls and the bears. How are you? How many bears do they have now? I am much better these days. The month and a half of work is over and it was successful. Bank account is back up for a while. This is always a great help. Am not working at IDA anymore but am working on co-producing a fund raising event for the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee rescue Center in Cameroon, Africa – a project of IDA-Africa. (see www.ida-africa.org) I’m quite excited but insecure too. We are starting from scratch however we have a model for the event as they did it in Portland last year and raised 29K. It is called Non-Fatal Bite (a vegan food tasting and competition as well as speakers and entertainment) and it will be August 24th or 25th of this year. Eventually I would like to help produce an event to raise money for the bears... Annie wrote me the other day. She is coming to San Francisco the beginning of March. I can’t wait to meet her and take her to dinner. I told her to let me know if there is anything I can do to help with her visit. I hope you are well, John > Warm wishes, Kate aapn aapn 13 Feb 2001 01:01:12 -0000 aapn Digest Number 79 Message: 5 Mon, 12 Feb 2001 09:34:59 +0800 " Dr John Wedderburn " <john Re: re China Bears issue article Bunny wrote: > AAF needs $4 million dollars to complete construction of its permanent bear > sanctuary in Ziyang, China I have just got back from two weeks at the China Bear Rescue Centre - physically, mentally and emotionally gruelling. I can honestly say that there is no better charity to support. Apart from the rescue and rehabilitation of the individual wretched bears, this project presents an extraordinary opportunity to introduce into China ideas of compassion to animals. Guest guest
Hi P_T, have you ever posted the recipe for the hummous artichoke wraps? Sounds like my kind of food. By the way, yes I am a lurker! I have been on the list since you started it and have been saving so many good recipes you are all posting. I have only been a vegetarian for about 8 months now, but am really enjoying my new lifestyle. I am healthier, and I for one am one of the people who have lost quite a bit of weight! About 46 pounds now. I just didnt substitute tons of carbs and fats for my meats. My name is Phillip and I live in southern Illinois. Anyway, I would love to have the recipe, thanks in advance! LOL Seriously, when I first became a vegetarian I used it as an excuse to go overboard on my favorites like pasta, breads, etc. I really had to force myself back on track. (22 pounds later!)
