Guest guest
I was the one who sent that Bush quote, and to answer both questions: A: I think that choosing a vegan lifestyle is a wholly political choice, because it goes against most things we were taught by our parents and society were wrong (like: Meat is good for you, " Milk does a body good " , smoking isn't bad for you....) Therefore, it must be made into a political issue, in my opinion. and B: No, I do not think that killing an unborn child is any different than killing an animal, however, just like I'm not going to dictate to the world what they can and cannot eat, drink or wear, I'm also not going to tell anyone what they can or cannot do with their bodies. The only point I was making with that quote was that I would hope that someone with that kind of authority to make choices about what quality of life I have would have the common decency to actually respond to my issues without sarcasm and outright cruelty to me. (Wow, that was a long sentence!) If, he was looking to win approval, I think that was the wrong tactic to take. Oh, and by the way, I agree with " pop380613 " about the Green Party. I just wish they were a more reliable option. Nicole " pop380613 " said: >>It all matters. To me, being a vegan is an extension of a Respect Life ethic. The only Party that comes (very) close to embracing such an ethic is, in my opinion, the Green Party. While they are pro-choice, they make it clear in their platform that they believe abortion should not be determined by economic, social, or political factors. They want to reform adoption policies to improve that choice as well. And, essentially, the implications of their entire platform would really eliminate the need for the vast majority of abortions altogether.<< Frances Robson said: >>As far as presidential candidates to vote for, does it matter to you if a person thinks that it is okay to kill an unborn baby? Or is it just eating meat that is a determinant?<< __________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://home.netscape.com/webmail

" More reliable " in what way? What do you think makes them unreliable? Thanks, Michelle
