Guest guest
Today in the open air market in downtown Boston MA USA I purchased, for the first time in my life, a box of dried sweet tamarinds. I have never before in my entire life tasted tamarinds or the tamarind taste, although a friend of mind, Harshad Parekh, started and runs Tamarind Tree www.TamTree.com in New Jersey in the USA (nothing really to do with tamarinds), and several Hispanic companies (notably Goya in Secaucus NJ USA) produce a tamarind juice (but it's sweetened with sugar). The cost for this box of about 14 sweet tamarinds was $1 US. So, please, could anyone tell me how to prepare sweet tamarinds from scratch, since I have about 14 dried tamarinds from Thailand in a peachy-pink-colored box, from the Golden Farm Trading Co, Ltd., and distributed by the SSK Produce Company in Los Angeles, CA, USA. ©2000 Maynard S.
