Guest guest
got some " cream cheese, " made from soy, and it was so gross i spit it in the garbage. it was made by galaxy foods, veggie cream cheese. and it top it off it had casein, which comes from cow's milk. does anybody know a brand that actually tastes good? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The best vegan cream cheese that I have found is by Toffutti. The stuff tastes great but is made of complete garbage. I use it once in a while when I have to make my favorite carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting but other than that I try to stay away from it. Prior to my current job in direct marketing, I was heavily involved in the natural foods industry and can honestly say that there is so much " crap " out there. Stuff that says vegan on the label but is really just garbage, Hain and Tofutti being two of the biggest offenders. Anyway, the rest of the cream cheese substitutes tend to lack the taste they most of have grown to love. GO ORGANIC! Guest guest
Has anyone tried baked tofu? My cousin found it at the health food store and she LOVES it! Baked tofu is delicious but don't pay health food store prices for something you can make at home for a fraction of the cost... Get a couple of good cook books such as Vegan Vittles, Table for Two, Nonnas Italian or others and follow their recipes. Eventually you'll be able to stop using cook books and just create new recipes on your own.
