Guest guest
Hi everyone, Wouldn't it be great if we could have a conference and just have a potluck and share recipes all weekend? Wow! We can get the Mori-Nu (I think it is that brand) of Pudding mix here in Ontario Canada but It is like about $6.00 for the pudding mix and then you have to buy the tofu for a few dollars so it makes for a very expensive desert. I guess it is so expensive because of the exchange rate etc. on the Canadian dollar. I would be interested Jennifer, in the tofu recipes you mentioned by scratch. We can't afford to have pudding very often when it costs about $10.00 to buy. > > There are also 2 (that I know of in US) brands of instant pudding packages > found in health food stores that are meant to made up with silken tofu. > Mori-Nu makes one and the other is Soy something-or-other. Krista, > > You can make a beautiful cream pie, if you're interested, by mixing roughly > equal amounts of silken tofu (like Mori-Nu brand) with melted chocolate chips > (use a blender or hand-blender to blend the tofu to a perfectly creamy > consistency, then blend in the chocolate), and then pour into a pie shell and > chill to set. I wonder if this would work with carob chips. I have an intolerance to chocolate. I guess I will have to try it to find out. Anyone have a good healthy (no or few chemicals) pie shell recipe? I haven't made one for so long that all I remember is that the ingredients would have something like cookie crumbs or graham cracker crumbs and margarine in it. Another question is where do you find coffee essence, hazelnut essence etc.? I don't believe I have ever seen those. Is it the same as hazelnut extract? Even so, I have never seen that! Thanks, Brian This really is that simple, and it's divine.
