Guest guest
>Please share your recipe for Rice Dream. > Here you go! I've made this several times and really love it... you do have to stir/shake it before using it each time. Rice Milk 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown) 4 cups warm water 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 cup almond or cashew pieces Place all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Let the milk set for about 30 minutes, then without shaking pour the milk into another container leaving most of the sediment in the first container. This makes about 4 - 4 1/2 cups. Notes: When I have used cold water and the rice was taken out of the refrigerator, it just doesn't come out that well. I don't know why but its best to use warm water and warm rice (you can nuke it if its leftovers but freshly made is best) I have even let it set longer than 30 minutes (overnight) without it making a difference. I'm still searching for the " chocolate " flavored rice milk recipe, if anyone has it?? _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Just a question, we give Rice Dream to my daughter as replacement to whole milk (she was not breast fed due to lack of proper info/support) this is what we put her on after she got off formula, she is 1½. Could I use this recipe in place of spending money each week on cases of Rice Dream?

I recently made some with cold rice and water, and it tasted very watery (although I dont use the nuts). What is the difference in taste between the warm method and cold method? Guest guest
Hi Eric, I think the difference between using the cold vs warm water & rice is because the warm, soft rice blends smoother than the cold, harder rice. I'm thinking the cold rice may retain some moisture (coagulates) that would evaporate some during cooking. ;-) Dolly _ > >Hmm, interesting!
