Guest guest
Jo-Ann We make our own version of " fatty food " hehe or if we go out because there are no Vegan resteraunts where I live we just get a subway veggie salad or sub.. with all the salads and oil and vinegar yummmmm we then take it to the beach and eat which is better scenery than a stuffy resteraunt anyway ))) Rikki On 2001.05.06 13:56:29 +1000 LamourDelaVie wrote: > In a message dated 5/5/01 11:03:48 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > netbreeze writes: > > << > Rhonda > I am in Australia.. Guest guest
yeah. fast food joints are pretty sneaky. When I was ovo-lacto I went to taco bell all the time and got a veggie something or other (they don't make 'em anymore) on my lunch break, until one day the drive thru lady was kind enough to ask if i was a vegetarian, and then told me that the special sauce had I think turkey something or other in it. i guess you have to ask, but i know that if you ask the sixteen year old behind the counter about something, and he doesn't know for sure, he's just gonna tell you what you want to hear. Guest guest
P.S. did you hear they're going to start making gelatin-free gummi bears? I'm quite excited. Robyn

I like the idea of the beach. We have the beach to...we live in FL. There arent many vegan restaurants...actually NO Vegan ones that I know of, but some healthy ones. I personally do not TRUST a restaurant any more to be safe! Between e-coli and other things cross contaminating my food...I just think I will have to skip it! Except taco bell seems okay...as long as their borrito shells do not have lard in them. Jo-Ann

Last time I was at taco bell I asked a few questions, and they told me that the beans they use contain animal lard. Now, this may have just been a punky 16 year old kid not wanting to actually find out for sure.... but I was wondering if anyone here knew? And if the beans actually have lard in them, what else do you guys eat there? Mel

According to the Vegetarian Resource Guide, the beans don't have lard and the burrito wraps used to contain milk but do not anymore.
