I had a chance today of checking some packaged soy slices, cheese, and tofu

cheese (same thing?), and I found all of them had casein -- milk protein in

them, and thus were not vegetarian -- milk doesn't grow in a garden, and I

don't eat anything that comes from anywhere else.

As for the various meat substitutes made from tofu or soy, I've tried them,

only to learn again the lesson that I just don't like meat, or anything that

looks like it, smells like it, or tastes like it. I'm a vegetarian, and

not looking for substitute meat, even if it wasn't taken by violence from an

animal.

What's a Bonsai Kitten have to do with vegan recipes? On a quick food note,

if anyone drinks wine, you must check out Fresh Fields wine selection. They

have some amazing organic honey wines, some being Elderberry and Blackberry.

For $10 a bottle you can't beat it and they go great with any non-hearty

type meal.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks, Dave, for reminding everyone to

send their event info to me for the website. Phil

gave me a schedule of the events and I have begun

putting them on our web calendar.

Please note, what I need are the details of your

event, not just a note that you are hosting it. I

need to know date, time, location, cost, and any other

details such as directions, what to bring, etc.

Putting this information on the website as well as a

listserve posting will allow members to look up all

the details of your event on the website, without the

need to find a particular message in the list. There

are also visitors to our website who are not on our

listerve, and we want them to see how much fun we are

having!

Tjanks so much for your cooperation.
