The three brands I like are Chocolove, Tropical Source and Cloud Nine... Lots of online retailers sell them, if you can't find them locally, but maybe if you ask your local health food store they will order some for you... Guest guest
Here's the email I received from Nestle about their change of receipe. I was so upset, it's such awful news. They sent a current list of their remaining suitable products if anyone is interested. 0691836A 12 June 2001 Dear Jenny Thank you for your recent enquiry. Unfortunately After Eight Mints are no longer suitable for the Vegetarian/Vegan diet. Our Quality and Technical Department have assured us that the addition of a small amount of milk fat is an effective way of significantly increasing the resistance of the chocolate to bloom. Bloom is the slight whitening of the chocolate resulting when stored in warm conditions. Although not harmful, it can make the mints appear unappetising and is one of the main reasons people complain to us about After Eight Mints. It is our constant endeavour to maintain the highest possible standards of quality and value in our products but we regret that this decision means that you and other vegans can no longer enjoy After Eight Mints. We do understand your disappointment at this change of recipe but hope you will understand the reasons behind the change. The new packs will clearly state that butterfat is present but for a short while there will be some packs still on sale that were produced last year without the butterfat. We can assure you that if the packs do not mention butterfat in the ingredients listing, the mints in the pack will be suitable for Vegans. I am taking the opportunity of attaching copies of our latest Vegan and Vegetarian list which I hope will be of help to you. Thank you once again for taking the trouble to contact us. We hope that you will continue to enjoy our products in the future. If you are unable to open the attachments, please reply with your postal address and we will be pleased to post the information to you. Guest guest
Thank you very much for the info. I probably never would have checked the label again. I am so sad. - " jenny juniper " <jenniferjuniperberry Wednesday, June 13, 2001 11:09 AM Re: Re: After Eight Mints... > Here's the email I received from Nestle about their > change of receipe.
