Guest guest
Lately I've been seeing sunflower oil in a lot of recipes (incl. the newspaper), but I can't find it in the stores! Is this something only health food stores carry? Even the one I checked didn't have it... is there a good substitute? Thanks! You can ask your HFS to order it for you :-) We use Spectrum brand Walnut Oil...any mild oil can be used as a replacement, or just use extra virgin olive oil in most recipes...... Guest guest
I know what you mean. I haven't been able to find safflower oil either. The grocery store shelves used to give you a choice of vegetable, canola, safflower, and corn oils. Now all I see are vegetable (100% soybean), soybean, corn, and canola. I suspect they're trying to push the gmo soybeans. I have canola oil right now but plan to see what my HFS has when I visit on Friday.
