Guest guest
I just got the Uncheese Cookbook in today - now as my kitchen is packed up because we are trying to sell our house and move... I'm not going to be able to try any of these recipes. Has anyone tried some of these recipes? Are they as good as some of the "testimonies" say? ~Tammy~ [tammy]Wednesday, August 01, 2001 10:17 PM Subject: RE: Cheese substitute Robyn, Trust me once you have been doing it for a while, you don’t even miss it, me and my two small children just love pizza and cant even imagine it with cheese, its almost strange when we see a pizza with cheese. Good luck Tammy : ) ..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´*
Guest guest
Yes I agree with Jeff, I have tried a few and I didn’t really like them. I also had to toss them in the garbage they were that bad, I think its individual taste, but for the nutritional yeast works great for the few times we need cheese. Guest guest
Here is a recipe that I have. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say how it tastes. I plan on trying it though. Hope it can help. Robin Cracker Barrel Cheddar Makes 3 Cups 1/2C. Sesame tahini 1/4C. Lemon juice 4Tb. Nutritional yeast flakes 1/2C. Pimiento 1 1/2tsp. Sea salt 1tsp. Onion powder 1/2tsp. Garlic powder 3Tb. Emes unflavored gelatin, dissolved in 1/2C. cold water -Bring an additional 1/2C. water to a boil. -Place ALL ingredients, including the gelatin and boiling water; into a blender. -Blend throughly, until mixture is smooth and creamy. -Pour into a sprayed mold and refrigerate. A small bread pan works great for a mold. -When thoroughly chilled and set, turn out onto a dish. Slices and melts well. This cheese is delicious melted on toast, vegetables, rice, or noodles. A dollop over steaming black beans or chile beans is a mouth-watering taste treat. Enjoy it in sandwiches or tortillas. It is also delicious frozen, then grated on pizza, enchiladas, burritos, manicotti, or nut loafs.

Guest guest
Pimiento? They are what are stuffed in olives - it is a pickled red pepper (not sure if pickled is the correct word here - but they are quite nice IMHO)... you can buy them in small jars.
