I thought that " Vegetarian " meant that you don't eat meat. There was a

recipe in this digest that suggested chopped cooked ham or smoked sausage.

That sounds like meat to me. If you are going to call a recipe vegetarian,

then shouldn't you make it vegetarian? No flaming intended, just a stupid

question.

You could just subsitute the meat or add veggie meat.. scottsvcs wrote:

Earth Balance is the finest vegan butter substitute. Willow Run is filled

with those lovely hydrogenated oils too! Nothing good about that. Try Earth

Balance, it tastes much better then Willow Run also.

What's wrong with hydrogenated oils? And how does one tell if a particular

spread is vegan? Does anyone know if Shedd's Spread is vegan?
