Guest guest
the bottom line is that this is a recipe list for those interested in vegan food/cooking. I'm sure everyone on this list has been in some way, shape and/or form, deeply impacted by the events that have occured. But again, this is an information specific list so drop your claim and let people deal with the events as they'd like and can... christian doesn't equal compassion and the message was obviously slanted with a christian swing. Guest guest
Hi List, I too was shocked at the negativity of the post about the tragedy being off topic. I am Canadian but still feel emotions regarding this. Like our Prime Minster said today.. " we are not only neighbours, we are family. " We can all share recipes, but I find it difficult to only talk about food. Seems a bit insensitive, don't you think. Anyway, I am sorry this is off topic but...... Bless America and we are united with you. Samantha i just have to say that how could you write that?! what has just happened is horrific and you make it seem like " who cares, this isn't about cooking so it shouldn't be on the list " maybe some people would like to listen to what is happening... do you even care what has happened a couple of days ago? i mean if you didn't want to see what was written all you had to do was delete it... it said what was gonna be in the letter by the subject... i mean i'm sorry if i'm harsh but i have family and friends in NY as well as wachington dc so i take offense when someone writes " this is inappropriate unless he is cooking something " i'm lucky that none of them were hurt but they could have been... and i'm on this list also for recipes but i mean this is a big thing that is going on and i'm sure other people like to be updated on what is happening as well...ok i'm done goodbye In a message dated 9/12/01 10:08:29 PM Eastern Daylight Time, sarahwrightson writes: > Absolutely inappropriate for this list unless he's cooking something! Guest guest
Ok. This is getting ridiculous. 1) I requested information about a month and half a go politely because I wanted to unsub from this group for exactly this reason-- the list gets off topic, people get sensitive, and guess what, like many other people, I did to get vegan recipes/information. I never received it. 2) I am a college student, I spoke/debated/cried about this all day in my classes, and I don't think it makes me evil and heartless to not want to come home and see a message (like the other 50 I'm getting from EVERY other list in the world) about the WTC. 3) Guess what, that original post *was* at a Christian slant. 4) What was that original response post? Oh yeah, something about " It's not relevant unless he's cooking something. " My modification, " It's not relevant unless he's cooking something and not talking about his god/goddess/spiritual life while doing it. " 5) And who ever is arguing " You don't know if people on the list have been affected by this. " GUESS what, you don't know either. I live in NYS and know a lot of people and friends in NYC. 6) Now can someone please tell me how to unsub? Thanks. 7) Hm, wouldn't want to post something with out a vegan relevance! See below: From " Easy Vegan Cooking " by Leah Leneman. Tomato and Onion Savory. 2 large onions 1 dozen very ripe medium tomatoes 1/4 cup vegan margarine pinch dried oregano 2 tsp raw cane sugar as required sea salt black pepper 8 slices wholewheat toast spread with vegan margarine 1. Slice the onions and chop the tomatoes coarsely 2. Heat the margarine and sauté the onions until golden. Add the tomatoes and seasonings. 3. Simmer 15 minutes or until tomatoes are tender. 4. Serve immediately on hot buttered toast.

I never received it. There have been over 40 vegan recipes posted here in the past week and a half, including 15 or so yesterday. If you didn't receive them, you may want to check the archives. You the same way you d: go to , sign in, click on My Groups, and it should be pretty self-explanatory from there. Guest guest
I agree that's it's getting ridiculous. It's ridiculous to me that a college student can figure out how to join a mailing list, but not how to .
