Easy Chocolate Cake

 

Ingredients

10 Oz. Self-Raising Flour

8 Oz. Caster Sugar

1.5 Tsps. Baking Powder

7 Oz. Mayonnaise

4 Tblsps. Cocoa Powder

8 Floz. Boiling Water

1 Tsp Vanilla Essence

 

Method

Grease & lone a 7 " cake tin, preheat oven to GM 4.

Mix cocoa powder and liquids and allow to cool. Combine dry ingredients then

add the mayonnaise and stir until the mixture has a bread crumb consistency.

Then add the liquid and mix well. Bake for 1 hour, for a moist cake, allow

to cool in the tin.

 

Icing

2 Tsps Instant Coffee Powder

2 Tblsp Cocoa Powder

2 Tblsp Hot Water

3 Oz Margarine

8 Oz Icing Sugar

 

Dissolve the cocoa and coffee powders in the water to form a paste, add this

to the margarine and beat well. Finally add the icing sugar in 2-3 portions

and beat until smooth.

Not to seem like an apologist for PETA or any other group, but it is

sometimes excellent strategy to work on a whole bunch of fronts at once.

You might know that it's not going to happen, but the suggestion

actually makes people take notice. While we are all talking against such

strategies, we are still advertising those very strategies that we

consider 'foolish'. Free advertising ;=)

 

Additionally, I am reminded of some racist slurs that used to be

inherent in the names of, say, some products or in their advertising.

When it was first suggested that they change it sounded silly to some

people, but later it became the norm to avoid offence. (Few of us would,

I hope - for example - put a cigar store Indian outside our premises or

display a Little Black Sambo statue on our lawn - nor would we use the

same or any such sterotype to advertise our businesses.)
