What is Last Chance for Animals (LCA) San Diego?

The San Diego Chapter of Last Chance for Animals is an all-volunteer

non-profit organization which seeks to educate the public about

animal rights issues. We advocate a vegan, cruelty-free lifestyle

through our information booth at street fairs and other events. Call

619-583-9LCA or e-mail LCA_SanDiego@bigfoot for more information or

to volunteer.

Why Turkey-Free?

The Standard American Diet, with its dependence on animal products,

has been

implicated as a factor in heart disease, breast cancer, strokes,

obesity,

colon cancer, diabetes and more. The agricultural system needed to

produce

this same meat-centered diet is also taking an incredible toll on our

soil,

our water, and precious natural resources. In addition, the growth

of factory farms has led to an increase in animal suffering. The

good news is that the fall harvest brings a bounty of grains,

vegetables, and fruits to enjoy. EarthSave is encouraging people to

participate in the " Turkey-free " this year and enjoy a plant-based

Thanksgiving feast as part of an educational campaign to inform the

public about the total environmental and health impact of the foods

we eat.
