Pecan Pie #12 cups date pieces1 1/2 cups hot water1 tsp. maple flavoring2 Tbsp. cornstarchunbaked piecrust1/4 cup honey or maple syrup1 1/2 cups pecan halvesBlend first four ingredients until smooth. Pour into unbaked piecrust. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes. Heat honey or maple syrup in microwave for 30 seconds. Coat pecans with honey and arrange glazed nuts on baked pie.Serves: 8Calories per serving: 221Source: Women of Spirit Mar/Apr 1999

 

*Note: another name for this pie would be "Date Pie with Pecans". It tastes good, but doesn't resemble what we usually think of as a pecan pie.
