I have collected these vegan substitutions for evaporated and condensed milk.

I hope they help.

Condensed Soymilk or Rice Milk #1 (Quick Method)

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

2 cups soymilk or rice milk made from powdered

mix using triple the powder called for

3/4 cup sugar or equivalent

vanilla -- to taste

1 pinch salt

 

Prepare soymilk or rice milk made from powdered mix, using triple the powder

called for.

 

Add sugar or equivalent.

 

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.

 

Add vanilla and salt.

 

Cool. Store in jar in fridge.

3 cups liquid soymilk or rice milk

1/2 cup sugar or equivalent

vanilla -- to taste

1 pinch salt

 

Put liquid soymilk or rice milk in a saucepan.

 

Add 1/2 cup sugar or equivalent. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring

constantly, until volume is reduced to 1 cup.

 

Add vanilla to taste, and a pinch of salt.

 

Cool. Store in jar in fridge.

3 Tbsp melted margarine

2/3 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 Pinch salt

1 cup boiling water

 

Put powdered soymilk or rice milk, melted margarine, sugar, salt and boiling

water in blender. Blend together until well mixed.

 

Cool. Store in jar in fridge.

Hey everyone,

 

I'm looking for a vegan sub for evaportaed milk... does anyone have one? I

was thinking mixing almond milk with something else to equal the evap milk..

but what? Any help is much appreciated!
