Hey everyone. Quick question that I'm sure has been answered many many times :). Are McDonalds or Burger King fries vegan? Being a hungry pregnant girl... I have a massive craving lol. I know it would be much healthier, not to mention taste a world better, if I made the fries myself. But when you get your mind set on greasy junk its hard to turn it off LOL. Anyone know or know of a site I can look it up?

Thanks so much in advance

Burger King doesn't, my husband used to work there years ago, they don't want any other flavors mixing with the fries.

Sorry, but neither of them is vegan. Here's the info about Burger King:

http://www.vrg.org/fries.htm and here's the McDonald's info:

http://www.veggiefries.org/mclies.htm .

You can order a Fast Food Guide from VRG for $4.00 at

http://vrg.org/catalog/ff.htm .

I normally just listen here, but thought I'd comment on your fry

question. I've been told that most things at a McDonalds or Burger

King aren't even remotely vegetarian (by employees that worked

there), but that was about 5 years ago.

Unfortunately, I've seen that even just plain vegatable stuff

(salads and the like) have contact with meat or meat byproducts in

many places, not just those two places. I've worked in the food

industry for a while.

Or if you order something that's vegetarian or vegan, they'll

cut/mix it with something that's been used for meat. IE. plain

salad, salad with chicken, use same spoon for both. Or even better

example: pizza.

Which is why I never eat out anywhere, can't trust where the stuff's

been, or what's in it.

Hmm, I know here they have separate frying bins just for the fries (at both the burger king and mcdonalds). Would that be the only thing keeping them from being vegan at the stores that fry nuggets in the same bin? I asked to see the box of ingredients for both the fries and the oil that they're fried in. Unfortunately I didnt have my handy ingredient list with me, and there were a number of things on both boxes that I was unsure of... big unpronounceable words lol, so I just left. I'll have to bring my list with me next time and ask to see them again.

The McDondalds fries are definitely NOT vegan, not even vegetarian. They use natural beef flavoring in their recipe. I don't know about Burger King though.

Don't want to be a pain, but I don't think they fry them in the same grease as the chicken. I worked at McDonalds for a couple of years and the Chicken nuggets had their own fry bin, the same one they fried the Fish Fillets in.

It's been about ten years so they may have changed.
