Guest guest Posted October 15, 2002 Report Share Posted October 15, 2002 Chicken-Style Noodle Soup Source: NEWSTART 1/2 pound noodles (sesame are delicious in this recipe) 1 cup chopped celery 1 onion, chopped 1/4 cup water 2 Tbsp. All-Purpose Seasoning (recipe follows) 1 1/2 quarts water 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed, or 2 large carrots, sliced 2 cups garbanzos, with broth 2 cups scrambled tofu, optional 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley food yeast flakes, to taste, optional Cook noodles as directed on package. Drain. Meanwhile, simmer next 4 ingredients until celery and onion are tender. Add 5 cups of the water and the potatoes and simmer. Process garbanzos, broth, and remaining water in a blender until smooth. Add to vegetables and simmer slowly to allow flavors to blend. Adjust water and salt, as desired.
