Guest guest
What is Bakon yeast? How is it different than nutritional yeast? Are yeast flakes different than nutritional yeasts? I just haven't done that much cooking with yeast (except the yeast used in bread doughs to help it rise). Peggy K.
Guest guest
Bakon yeast is a seasoning made from 100% torula yeast, a concentrated food which contributes to good nutrition and enhanced flavor. It has no sugar, is high in protein, and low in sodium. I like to purchase the hickory smoke flavor and use it in flavorings for legumes, gravies, and loaves. It is available from: Bakon Yeast, Incorporated PO Box 651, Rhinelander, WI 54501. It is similiar to nutritional yeast, but has more flavor and is very powdery instead of flakey. Hope this helps, LaDonna - What is Bakon yeast? How is it different than nutritional yeast? Areyeast flakes different than nutritional yeasts?
