Guest guest Posted March 28, 2003 Report Share Posted March 28, 2003 Black Beans Source: Vibrant Life March/April 2003 1 pound black beans 3 quarts water 1 1/2 cups chopped onion 1 cup chopped green pepper 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 packets G. Washington Broth salt, to taste Sort and rinse beans. In a large saucepan, bring beans to a boil in the water. Turn off heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Add onion, pepper, and garlic. Simmer until the beans are soft (approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour). When the beans are soft, add seasoning and salt. Serve over brown rice.
