Guest guest
Hi! I'm a new member, my name is Kayleen. I'm looking for easy smoothie or milkshake recipes....Preferably ones that don't have soy/rice/fake milk in them. I'm not a big fan of the way they taste. I'm pretty much just looking for a METHOD....to combine things like fruit juice, ice cubes, and fruit. For example, should I freeze orange juice and then blenderize it with some juice and fruit? Should the fruit be frozen or not? I have a vague idea but I'm not entirely certain how to do this....Do I just throw it all in the blender at once? Or do I have to crush the ice cubes seperate and mix them in? Ay...Any help is appreciated. I'm so used to just mixing ice cream and flavour syrup that this is all new to me. Guest guest
Hi Kayleen! I love smoothies, and make them all the time. I freeze bananas and berries overnight so they're firm in the morning (that way you don't have to use ice cubes, which waters down the flavor). Just combine the frozen bananas and berries with some fresh fruit (my favorite combination is a frozen banana, frozen raspberries, and a fresh mango) with either some cold orange juice or some cold almond milk in a blender. I usually toss in some ground flaxseed as well, just because it's good for you Mmmmm, I think I'll have one for breakfast this morning! I think I'll try it like that, with the orange juice too I'll be working this summer at an animal sanctuary type place and the house I am staying at is a vegan one, so I'm diving headfirst into veganism for at least two months....A lot of this is pretty new to me... Anyways I've never been much of a breakfast person, generally I can't stand the sight of food in the morning, but because I'll be working, I'll have to eat *something*.....and with my few favorite breakfast foods scratched off the list as non-vegan that leaves...*drumroll*.......smoothies! Good thing they're healthy Sincerly, Kayleen
