Guest guest
Hey hey! So, here's an easy recipe with minute rice for anyone who likes rice, veggies, and spicy foods Bring 1 1/2 cups water and a few drops of sesame seed oil to a boil. dump in 1 1/2 cups of five-minute rice, a blob of soy sauce, and about a half cup of frozen mixed veggies. Stir in a bit of curry powder, some paprika, vegetable soup base, garlic powder, some salt, and a generous dash of pepper, cover and let cook five to ten minutes. Fluff and serve! It's easy, takes ten minutes, and makes the kitchen smell really nice. It serves two or three people. Or like, one if you're massively hungry. -Kayleen
Guest guest
And, here is my version of that: 1-1/2 cups brown rice 3 cups water Put on to simmer, covered for 30 minutes Add one bag of frozen vegetables, your choice combine: 1 tbs cornstarch 1/4 cup of water Add: 1 cup of water 1/4 cup soy sauce And/or 1-1/2 teaspoons curry powder 1 tsp dry or tbs fresh ginger 1 tsp powder or tbs garlic And add to rice and vegetables. Cook an additional 30 minutes. Finish off with a few drops of sesame oil, especially if you did the ginger or garlic version or what the heck if you would like sesame oil on chocolate. Some purists would probably do the veggies and sauce separately and serve over the rice, but I guess purists aren't as lazy as me and do as little as possible to dirty extra dishes. Like, why use a spoon rest on the stove when I am going to eat from a bowl anyway; just use that. I do draw the line at eating from the cooking pot, most times. - kejlinaesperas Tuesday, May 20, 2003 6:44 AM Curried rice and veggies Hey hey!So, here's an easy recipe with minute rice for anyone who likes rice, veggies, and spicy foods :)Bring 1 1/2 cups water and a few drops of sesame seed oil to a boil. dump in 1 1/2 cups of five-minute rice, a blob of soy sauce, and about a half cup of frozen mixed veggies.
