Guest guest
I'll keep the off topic stuff very short and very sweet. then follow it up with a short and sweet recipe - I've been interning at www.farmsanctuary.com for two weeks now. Am enjoying it here immensely, and meeting a lot of wonderful animals. The work can be hard though! I cleaned barns all yesterday. - I've been vegan for a few weeks now, and intend to stay that way, always. - i haven't starved or caught scurvy yet so i must be doing something right! K, now a short and sweet recipe! This is a date square recipe i found on the depths of the internet somewhere. I made it for my housemates and they love it. Unfortunatly i dunno who created the recipe But maybe they won't mind me sharing something so yummy. here it is! Date squares! 2 cups chopped pitted dates Juice of a lemon 1/2 cup of water Combine those in a saucepan, cook on low heat ten minutes. Set aside Cream together the following: 1/2 cup margarine 3/4 cup brown sugar Then add: 1 3/4 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 cup rolled oats Press about two thirds of the dough into a pan, and top with the date mix. Crumble the remaining dough on top, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Variations: replace dates with figs or apricots
