Guest guest
it was mentioned that water was used to was the pesticides from celery... but (I THINK) pesticides are mainly composed of hydrophobic compounds.... that is, they will stay as far away from water as possible and therefore washing your veggies with water won't do anything against the pesticides. there are special "fruit washes" sold in health food stores (I forget the brand name but I'll write back later with it) that are supposed to correct this. The fruit washes have a soap in them that attacks hydrophobic materials and then you rinse the soap off with water. perhaps if it is your mission to eat celery, then you should give the fruit wash a try. i have no doubt that it may very well increase the flavour of produce.Post your free ad now! Guest guest
I think that you can use any dish soap to clean your veggies in the same way...as long as you rinse well. I would use a natural one though...not any of the major brands...which aren't cruelty free anyway.
