Well now, I would try something a bit different. I don't think you are going to find a cream cheese taste and mouth feel in a recipe, BUT I think you could experiment with an alternative. Try out some soft Chinese tofu and blend it smooth in a food processor. Add fruit, pineapple bits, blueberries, mashed strawberries, chopped peaches, pears, even apples (if you parboil and add cinnamon and sweetner). I would add a dash of lemon juice and a bit of succinat or maple syrup to the tofu paste and the fold in the fruit.

I make an "eggy" paste for sandwiches from a blended soft tofu base and we love it. I should think that fruited on toast, bagels etc would be good, not cream cheese, but good.

What brand did you buy? The Tofutti brand vegan cream

cheese is the best one I've tried.

Here are a couple of recipes to try:

Re: Cream cheese recipe

Hi,Thanks!! Printed out the recipes. I don't think I tried the tofutti brand. I don't usually buy their products. I can't remember why but it was something about the ingredients...possibly sugar.Peace,Cindy_______________The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
