Pappadums?

I just recently found the enjoyment of Pappadums. (Minara's Plain Pappadums are the ones I've found). They're Indian flat breads, like hard rice paper that you cook in hot oil for a few seconds, and then let dry and harden, and dip in things like Mango Chutney and eat, crunchy goodness.Anyone else here eat pappadums? How do you vary them? I have plain ones, going to try the spiced kind..What sauces do you like with your pappadums? (note if they are spicy or not)Do you vary the cooking portion at all to get different flavors or anything? They are fun but I'm getting bored of plain + mango chutney. *g*-Lacy

pappadums are great. i usually eat the spiced kind. try mint chutney(spicy), tammrin (sweet), tomato chutney, cilantro chutney (spicy), or spicy basil and tomato chutney.

Lacy,

Where did you buy your pappadums cause it sounds like something that would be

easy for me prepare just for myself. As I'm finding this household is less

vegan-friendly than my last. IE at moms she would make a vegan version of

dinner for me or make everything vegan if she can, my dad does this too, but

he's only home a few days a month. Katie and her friends choose rather to ignore

me not leave me options or tell me when they are having dinner unless I catch

them.

Colleen :)

I'm sure there are recipes online, I don't have one as I just bought them from the store.

Indian grocery stores have some great things at good prices. You could get

a bunch of different kinds of breads. Prepared and boxed mixes. You never

knew there were so many variaties of beans and rice.

Peace,

Cindy
