"Dragonfly",

I get so many post...I must have deleted yours of which I am interested in the subject! We were thinking about purchasing a soymilk machine...but was wondering if the soymilk taste even remotely like the stuff in the stores. I am concerned about the "beanie taste" I know the website you referred to stated that their was no beanie taste...but of course that is an advertisement. What has been your experience with the machine? And if anybody else has purchased a soybean machine...please let me know the same. Thanks very much in advance!

Thanks for letting me know! That was really informative....now the other thing is....and I don't assume you are a soy milk machine expert! If some machines are better than others. There are lots of Soy Milk Maker machines on Ebay....several with the buy it now price of 50 dollars. Obviously it would be great if the 50 dollar machine worked as well as the 150 but I don't know much in this area and I want to buy quality and not JUST price. If anybody find a link on comparing quality....please let me know!

That beany taste is really easy to avoid. You just want the grinding water

to be hot, it kills that right off. The machine super heats the water

before grinding.

The stuff is in the stores is highly sweetened, fortified and

emulsified. You aren't going to get that at home, not quite, but you can

come close.

I fortify mine with calcium carbonate, a crushed B12 tablet, rice syrup, a

drop or two of vanilla, canola oil and if I would add some lecithin, it

would blend up better.

BTW, you can get a yogurt starter kit, the dried kind and inoculate the

soymilk, making yogurt.
