Guest guest
check this out...i just made this yesterday. it's awesome. Vegan cheeze (you can slice this up if you so desire, once it's done) 1 ½ c. water 5 Tbs. Agar-agar ½ c. raw cashews (I used salted regular kind b/c that’s what I had) ½ c. silken tofu ¼ c. nutritional yeast ¼ c. lemon juice 2 Tbs. Tahini (optional…… and I didn’t use it b/c I didn’t have any) 1 ½ tsp. Onion powder 1 tsp. Salt ¼ tsp. Garlic powder (I used one raw clove) ¼ tsp. Caraway seed (didn’t have any….used a seed similar to cumin instead) paprika (once again…didn’t have any so I used turmeric. Worked just fine!) do this first: Oil (or oil spray) a 3 cup rectangular mold (I used a square “Tupperware” container – the kind you store food in) and sprinkle sides and bottom with paprika/turmeric. bring water and agar-agar to a boil. (this is where i added the chopped jalapeno ) Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Place all remaining ingredients in a blender (except paprika/turmeric) and blend until smooth. Pour into container, and chill several hours. Slice away! This also seems to melt nicely too. i think i'd use a little more nutritional yeast next time. maybe a little more salt too. this recipe seems open to a little tweaking, as in: if you want a garlic cheeze, a horseradish cheeze,,....etc. love, angela Protect your identity with Mail AddressGuard
