Guest guest
Your best bet for finding nutritional yeast would be a natural food store. It is sold as yellow flakes. If you can't find it in your area, you can mail order it throuch The Mail Order Catalog, PO Box 180, Summertown, TN 38483; phone (800)695-2241 or fax (615)964-3518. Everything I've read about nutritional yeast says it shouldn't be confused or substituted with brewers yeast. Here is a recipe for Nutritional Yeast Gravy. It is easy, nutritious, fat-free, and delicious over mashed potatoes, vegetables, or over meatless loaves. NUTRITIONAL YEAST GRAVY 2 tablespoons water 1/4 cup flour (whole wheat works fine) 1 cup water 1/4 cup nutritonal yeast 1 tablespoon soy sauce Mix first water and flour in saucepan. Turn on heat, slowly add remaining water & then other ingredients, stirring often to avoid lumps. Simmer until thickened.
