Guest guest
I have a great recipe for veggie burger patties that includes boiling lentils to make the soft enough to turn into a paste. Could I just soak them in water over night to achieve the same effect? -Abbey =) _______________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/bcomm & pgmarket=en-ca & RU=http%3a%2f%2fjoin.msn.com\ %2f%3fpage%3dmisc%2fspecialoffers%26pgmarket%3den-ca
Guest guest
No, but you might try a " quick soak " . If you are making dried beans, this can take the place of an overnight soak. In the case of lentils or black-eyed peas, you just cook without soaking, so you MAY get a soft lentil from this. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Pour in your beans, making sure you have 4:1 water to beans. Boil for about five minutes, cover the pot, remove from the heat and set aside for at least an hour. Voila!
