Guest guest
I am trying to make "ice" drinks with low-fat soy milk and ice cubes in the blender. But, I seem to end up with slush and liquid, i.e., the milk doesn't seem to blend with the ice. Is this just a nature of soy milk or might I be doing something wrong. I am using 1 cup of milk to 5 cubes and have varied that up and down with equally poor results. I've let the blender run up to 5 minutes. Any suggestions? I see lots of "smoothie" recipes, but they all seem to use frozen fruit and I am using a flavored coffee mix trying to get the kind of thing you get at the coffee bars, etc. Any other suggestions of mixes for different drinks? Yeh, I know the fruit is better for me, but I'm not making them for my health, especially. It's hot in here!!! Thanks!

I've had difficulty getting different brands of soymilk to adapt to various recipes - the best one I've found with consistently reliable results (and no curdling in hot coffee or tea) is Vitasoy - I use the smooth (vitamin enriched) vanilla - its great! Of course this is for powdered or granulated coffee.
